Liberty Installation Options
the Liberty
Because the Liberty is designed to handle much greater wind loads than a typical umbrella, correct installation is essential. The average do-it-yourself home handyman can easily assemble and install the Liberty. The installation options include bolting the Liberty to a concrete patio or timber deck or
installing it in-ground using a special in-ground fitting. A portable base option is not recommended for the Liberty.

A. Standard Spigot
A Standard Spigot is included with each Liberty. The mast fits directly in the Standard Spigot as a sleeve. The Spigot can be bolted directly into a concrete or timber deck if the umbrella is not to be moved or seasonally stored.
B. Standard Base Plate (optional)
If you plan to seasonally store your Liberty we strongly recommend that you purchase an optional Standard Base Plate. The Standard Base Plate is galvanized and powder-coated steel so it will not rust. The powder-coated color is charcoal grey to match the Standard Spigot.
The Base Plate is first bolted to concrete or timber using the special bolts included with the Liberty. The Spigot is then screwed onto the Base Plate. When you remove the Liberty for a period of time, you simply undo the four screws and remove the Spigot from the Base Plate, leaving an unobtrusive plate in your deck or patio. The diameter of the Standard Base Plate is 215mm (approximately 9 inches) and is 1?4 inch thick.
Extra Base Plates for Multiple Locations
The Liberty sidepost weighs only 75 pounds so it can be easily lifted and moved by one person. Extra Standard Base Plates in other areas of your property (i.e. spa, pool, patio, etc.) allow you to simply unbolt the Spigot from one Base Plate and screw it to another Base Plate.
C. Standard In Ground Fitting (optional)
If you intend to install your Liberty into anything other than a concrete patio or timber deck you may need to purchase an optional Standard In Ground Fitting. Please feel free to contact us to determine the best installation option for your particular situation.
Made of galvanized steel, this Standard In Ground Fitting is extremely strong and will not rust. The diameter of the plate is 215mm (approximately 9") and the height of the fitting is 500mm (approximately 19 1?2 "). Installing an In Ground Fitting requires digging a suitable-sized hole, pouring concrete and placing the In Ground Fitting into the concrete. The Spigot is then bolted onto the In Ground Fitting.
